This class will focus on more advanced editing techniques using Photoshop. I’ll show how I use cloning, transforming, compositing, color alterations to enhance my own images. I’m using Photoshop more these days as it extends my creative reach beyond what can be captured in camera. It’s fun to push your vision to the unexpected places that Photoshop allows you to go to. This is a hands-on workshop so bring your laptop and up to 5 of your best images on a thumbdrive. As with all workshops I include art design and artistic development as a theme throughout.
Let’s EDIT! By request from those that missed the last workshop, we are having a repeat performance. There will be an emphasis on your own artistic development and enhancing your creativity using the principles of good design. This class will show you how I organize my own extensive image catalog. I’ll provide tips and tricks for how to save minutes within your workflow; minutes add to hours! In addition I will do an image review while incorporating editing tools to enhance your own images. Clone/heal, spot removal, cropping, sharpening, exporting and more. Bring up to 5 of your best images on a thumbdrive. Art development is a large focus of this class. You will leave with a better understanding of what makes a good image better and what makes a better image spectacular!
Let’s EDIT! I’ve been asked by so many people lately to do this that it’s finally time! In this workshop I’ll show you my workflow process and how I edit my fine art images. Bring your laptop, your own images to work on, and a lot of questions. I’ll explore ‘finding the image within the image’. People LOVE it when I do that. I’ll also go over more principals of design and how you can enhance an image in post if you couldn’t get it during capture – it happens!
For this workshop we are going to add a new element. I’m going to bring the Savage Universal Light Table and the Savage Automatic extensions tubes. We can play with those fund gizmo’s all day! I’ll start the morning with slides and a chat about macro photography and how to make sophisticated artwork. Then we are going to have shooting stations set up and we’ll do some post production after that. The studio that we will be using is in Mission Valley. You will receive a detailed email after payment processing.
And now for something totally different & fun! Youth sports photography! If you are a parent photographer or a hobbyist and you’ve struggled with how to get great images of your own althetes then this is the class for you. We will cover how to read the light & what camera settings to use to ensure sharp images! We will also talk about what lens choice is best and how to find the best vantage point from which to shoot.

Post processing is critical to what I do. The edits that I make in Lightroom and Photoshop enhance and sometime completely change the in-camera capture. Knowing how to use this software allows me unlimited creative freedom. Image organization and data management is also critical for any artist with a large library. When you purchase artistic training we will meet (screen share if not local) and review your images. I will teach you how to organize and edit your images in a way that showcases your artistic flare.
I am available to speak nationally and internationally for your organizations. Content can be customized to your group. Please contact me directly at 858-449-5424 for pricing and availability.
